Default ms server 2003 ee

I've been trying for a couple of days to install active
directory on a ms 2003 server enterprise edition, without
success. I use the wizard and in the middle of the
installation I receive and error message that says I need
to set up an ip address. I'v done that, but I still get
the same error message. Some tech, huh....

Okay, what is your IP configuration? IP address? Subnet mask?
Gateway? DNS server(s)? Is DNS installed on the server? What is the
DNS suffix on the machine?

Actually
I believe the solution is one of two things:

Buy a hub and plug a network cable into your computer and the hub to
get a link light

or

install a MS loopback adapter
(you can google to find out how)

If you havent got a network cable plugged in the network card wont
work and the wizard will fail
