The way "Highest Percentage" and "Lowest Percentage" intersect, one
might conclude there were only 12 different posters this week. But "Top
Posters" lists 20 of them, and the figures at the top of the report says
75. I'm all worn out from scratching my head. :-p

Are there some qualifying attributes required before posts (or posters)
are included in the "Original Text" percentage calculations?

Yes, they have to be of gorgeous appearance, tall as tall can be,
clever as hell, and with nerves of steel.

Is there a site that would educate someone who just "stumbled in" to
newsgroup participation regarding Usenet etiquette?

Being listed as "Highest Percentage of Original Text" makes me nervous. Is
that good, bad, or "who cares"?

Google is your friend. <g>

This comes up early in a search for "usenet etiquette":
<http://www.html-faq.com/etiquette/>

One thing to remember is to snip signatures when you reply. Sigs are
delimited by two dashes, a space, and a carriage return.

If you want to continue to use OE, get OE-QuoteFix. Or better yet, get a
modern real newsreader that already does that (and more) without
add-ons. I like 40tude Dialog when using Windows.

It could possibly mean that you didn't quote what you were replying to,
and everything you posted was 'original text' in your posts. <g>

Everyone knows that Mars is higher than Earth. Earthlings can
simply see this fact most nights.

"Higher?" So, is your universe only two-dimensional? Hmm. I foresee a
refill of my Jim Beam in order to contemplate the significance of this.

No, it seems I have made a mistake, you are right. I had a call
from a strident critic of the flat earth society on the other
side of the earth yester_day_ assuring me she was looking at Mars
above her. Put that bottle away Ed, I will not take
responsibility.
