Hi, sorry if this is a newbie question.
I've got MN700 wireless networking set up on an XP base station and a W2K Pro computer. The W2K Pro is able to access the internet wirelessly using my comcast modem, no problem. But neither computer can see the other - e.g. when I ping one computer from the other, the requests time out, and the "Network Devices" List on the broadband utility shows no devices. What's up?? =?Utf-8?B?ZFN0dW0=?= |

Sounds like you have firewalls installed...

Yes. I did not realize that would be a problem. Is there a workaround?

Firewalls lock-down your network. If your network isn't functioning
correctly, then UNLOCK it but installing the firewalls. Carey "dStum" <> wrote in message news:66ECCD1A-B344-4614-8519-... > Yes. I did not realize that would be a problem. Lots of typos in my response... let me try that again...
Uninstall the firewalls to unlock your network. Then, once you get your network working, install one firewall at a time ensuring you still have a working network after each install before continuing on to the next. If you network stops working, you'll know it's a firewall configuration issue and to consult your firewall HELP or manual or tech support to resolve it. Ok thanks Carey, I'll give that a try. I've got the free version of ZoneAlarm
running on both computers, will uninstall it and then see if the machines can see each other on the network. If they still cannot, I'll post another query.
