Somewhere along the way today my RDP client (6.0) just quit on me... I
can't connect to anything remotely - I'm given an "low virtual memory" warning... which is far from the case. I can swap over to another workstation and login everywhere without issue... AF |

If the O/S is not set to *Auto control the virtual page file size*, then it can be running out of virtual memory based on the amount that has been hard set for the page file. |

Total Physical memory (k) 2,095,468 Available - 1,200,000 PF usage - 900MB... Commit charge: 913M/6892M Pretty sure it has *nothing* to do with my system... I removed the TS/RDP 6.0 client - back to 5 - now I can connect to any server that is not set to use FIPS... |

Either the virtual memory page file size is set to low based on the amount of physical memory the computer has or it's not, which should be at least 2 maybe 3 times the amount of physical memory to be safe. OR you tell the O/S to control the virtual page file size automatically as needed. |

I pushed it to 6GB, nothing... then 10... still nothing... set it to OS managed.. .nothing... I can remove the 6.0 client and use 5.1 *but* I can not connect to any server that uses FIPS... |

If this happens just once, don't worry-as the message said, Windows found a problem and fixed it. But if it happens repeatedly, it could be that your settings don't allow Windows to make the necessary adjustment. First, make sure your drive isn't overly full. In Windows Explorer, right-click the drive icon and choose Properties. If the amount of free space is under about 10 percent, you'll need to free up some space. You can use the Disk Cleanup button right next to the free space indicator, or manually move some files to off-line storage, or uninstall unnecessary applications-whatever it takes to get more free space. If low drive space isn't the problem, the virtual-memory settings may be wrong. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties. Click the Advanced tab. Click the Settings button in the Performance panel. Click the Advanced tab in the Performance dialog. Click the Change button in the Virtual memory panel. Whew! This setting is buried quite thoroughly! Look for the System managed size option, select it if it isn't already selected, and then click OK, OK, OK. That should end the warnings. |

No, that is the wrong assumption - there is no indication at all about low memory. The only notice is from the RDP 6 client - the RDP 5 client works - but not MIPS. It is a 120GB drive, there is 90GB free.... Tried using the System Managed option too as well as giant page files - no go. |
