Ok, this really bugged me so I have to ask. For those of
you out there with Netflix, can you only rate with whole stars
(5,4,3,2,1) or can you also use half star ratings for the yellow
stars?
(1, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3,3 1/2, 4, 4 1/2, 5). I've been a member for a
year and a half and have always only been able to do whole stars.
I've
read articles where people complain they want half stars.

Then a guy at work says he signed up for Netflix last week and can
rate
with half stars. I didn't believe him. He showed me his screen and
sure
enough, he can do half stars! We're both using XP with IE 6.0.29 so
it
shouldn't be because of a different setup...unless its something to
do
with having the latest Flash or Java or something?

I don't care that much about the star ratings, but as a computer
question, I'm just trying to figure this out. Maybe new members are
given the ability to rate with half stars now but not old members?

Can't use half stars either, and I'm a longtime customer on Netscape--
Even my loyal Netflix Freak v2.0 can't do the half-star ratings...Sounds
like a glitch, but a pretty lucky one.

(Uh, don't mind him, Scott, he's using
- Troll Career Builder #2, "Attack Newbies if you're losing business
with the regular customer base", and
- MP Default Response #3, "My tech-geek lore is better than YOUR
tech-geek lore!")

Derek Janssen (is it really a bad thing to be predictable?...Umm, yes.)

Idiot. what is the average of a set of numbers? Is it always a
whole number?

When it isn't, they round up or down to the nearest half figure.

Hell, there may even be third stars in there, but you are too blind
to see them accurately.

Do you still watch your TV on a regular 4:3 set?
