I bet I'm missing something here, but we have 2 ASA's which I have setup a L2L vpn tunnel. The tunnel works, traffic is moving and all that good stuff. on one side I have an snmp monitoring host which I'm trying to poll the remote ASA's inside interface. I have not seem to get it work I also found the monitor box can't ping the ip address of that interface as well, it can ping devices behind it but not that one ip.

here is my setup

monitor------switch-----ASA------tunnel-----------ASA-----remote office

I did add the monitor to the approved snmp host list on the asa (snmp-server host inside monitor community mystrg).

any help would nice.

The ASA won't do hair pin routing, which is what your trying to accomplish with the snmp and pinging on the inside interface. You'd either have to configure and internal SNMP server on both sides or configure the ASA to allow SNMP to monitor on the outside ip address.
