Mozilla bug?

Browser Mozilla 1.7.12 - System Windows 2000.

On Amazon, using Mozilla browser whenever I try to play a sample of
music, using Windows Media Player 9, the WMP window comes up, but there
is no attempt to connect to the stream, and the window just freezes
blank. This problem does not occur with IE6 browser. WMP9 works fine
with Mozilla on its own accord, eg listening to a radio atation
streaming it will connect without a problem.

Any suggestions please?

Have you tried uninstalling/re-installing WMP9?

WMP11 works fine here sampling on Amazon.com using SeaMonkey 1.1.1.

Yes, I tried that last week, but to no avail. I don't think it can be a
WMP issue, as like I said the problem does not occur with IE6.

I think you need to delete the npmozax.dll plugin from your plugins directory.
I had the same problem (albeit a long time ago) and that fixed it.

Tell me if it works. Unfortunately, some of your ActiveX stuff will no longer
work. I found the tradeoff to be worth it.

npmozax.dll - No such filename on my disk, I'm afraid.

It would not be there unless you had specifically installed the Mozilla
Active X plugin.

are you sure? Because that file is specifically for Netscape's builtin
Active-X. Thats where I have it.

It was worth a shot. ;^)

Sorry I couldn't help.

OP stated Moz 1.7.12. The active x plugin would not be installed with
that version.

no Lee, you said npmozax.dll is the Mozilla Active-X plugin, and I'm
saying no its not, its actually the Active-x plugin for Netscape. I
believe the one for Moz is different. Though I could be wrong on that.
