Hello,
I hope someone can help me.

I don’t understand why I keep seeing this every time I try to move a file
larger than 3.5GB. to my external drive.
The external drive is a 400GB drive and is showing more than enough space
available.
I make lots of instructional movies for educational purposes and need to
store them effectively. My laptop is running XP pro with a 64 bit processor
and 2GB of ram but only has a 120GB hard drive and so I must keep it cleared.
Is there something I am not considering?
Thank you

Is the external drive formatted as a FAT16 or 32 volume? If so, the max
file size is 4 GB - 1 byte. Convert the volume to NTFS.

Yes you can. You need to run a command prompt convert d: /fs:ntfs
where d is the drive letter you want to convert. If not in use it will
happen immediately, otherwise when you next start the computer. You should
at a minimum run defrag before you do so.
