I have a server that is running windows server 2003 x64 sp1 and acts as a SQL
2000 SP4 server.
In the system monitor object called iSCSI Request Processing Time - Average
Request Processing Time shows occasionally values in billions.
I contacted our IP SAN vendor Network Appliance, but they are adamant that
the counter being used is a bit misleading as it measures the roundtrip
from/to the client. The timer starts when the client requests info from the
filer, filer responds and sends data. When the client responds back to the
filer it has received the data, the counter stops. This would be a bad way to
measure latency as we have 3 nodes in this communication.
I was basically told to discregard this counter - is anyone else using iSCSI
and/or has more understanding of this performance object?
Thanks
