My favourite editor, VIM (http://www.vim.org), has always worked quite well
under x64 Edition, but I've been hoping someone would port it to native
64bit. Well, with the release of VIM 7.0 (and what a huge upgrade this is,
lots of cool new stuff), there is now a native 64bit version. In fact, there
are two - one for x64, and one for IA64, both available at:
http://georgevreilly.com/vim/. Thanks for doing the port, George!

Nice to see x64 support. IA64 support as well is even more impressive. A
s/w vendor like that deserves a shot at our business just for making the
effort!

I'm not sure vendor is the correct term here. Vim is Open Source and freely
distributed as "charity ware". If you use it regularly you're asked to
donate to Uganda children's organizations. George Reilly did the port to x64
and IA64. Vi was always my editor of choice, and Vim just makes it so much
better.
