Default News Group info...

Some simple guidelines to avoid ridicule and sarcasm...

Don't ask something that's easily found by looking at the Microsoft website
or Google. If you're interested in obtaining your MCSE and you want to know
what tests to take or what topics are covered check the certification page
on the Microsoft site. Or if for some reason you can't find
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/default.asp there's always Google.

Don't ask something that was asked two topics before.

Don't use ALL CAPS.

Don't ask about Braindumps. Simple fact is that anyone that uses them or
provides the dump is violating Microsoft user agreements. I don't care if
you use them or not but don't ask for them on the official Microsoft
newsgroup.

Do use punctuation and spell check.

Do ask questions related to the News group your are on (i.e.. MCSE group,
ask questions relating to Windows/LAN/WAN administration).

I've been lurking for a long time on this board and I've only seen people
get slammed for going against the above guidelines. MCNGP has always
provide answers to intelligent questions, so before you slam them, spend 5
minutes on Google before asking others to find the answer for you.

Rowdy (and many others) have tried posting similar guidlines/hints/links
etc.
One thing that all the ass****ers, who ask the same questions every time,
without checking whether that same dumb question has been asked four times
already that day, have in common is that they are too dumb and/or lazy to
read the newsgroup before posting.
Do you see the problem here?

Someone should create a FAQ that we can post to the top of the board.
READ THIS BEFORE YOU POST- DUMBASS

See, if you include their name in the top, they'll be surpised enough to
open it!

In any other NG creating a post that stays at the top of the board is
considered way worse than top-posting.
Not sure it would work on MS's website anyway - not that they manage to keep
many worthwhile posts (where did my Tigger post go?)

problem remains the same any way you look at it. If they are too lazy to
read previous posts, they are probably too lazy to read an FAQ - even it
you address it directly to them. you could place something in every
message you send (like Rowdy did for a while) and they would still miss
the point. Stupid is as Stupid does...

I have seen other ms groups with post-dated posts to
keep them on top (in oe anyway).

I does not stop stupid questions though.
