I have started my experiencies in bluetooth by purchasing a Belkin USB
bluetooth adapter, part # F8T001 v2.
CD includes software + drivers version 1.4.2.10 which works ONLY on x86.
Windows XP x64 detects and installs the x64 drivers for this bluetooth
adapter but there is no friendly working software to configure and/or use it.
Darrell has been kind enough giving me directions on how to activesync via
bluetooth with my pocketpc (thanks Darrell) in this case.
The real pity is that THERE IS a working x64 package (software + drivers)
that no manufacturer is offering for download (100 megs).
The author of this software is common to all of the bluetooth usb adapters
which are differently labeled by different manufacturers (Belkin, etc.).
But the software+drivers are designed only by Widcomm.
This package is illegaly available on the Internet (just search for it on
the web or on the so-called "file sharing" programs.
The latest release is Widcomm 5.0.1.1200 which supports both x86 and x64.
There is also an "older" version 5.0.1.801 which also works.
Does anybody know a "legal" web site from where I can download it?
Carlos

I just brought a HP dv5040 laptop with built in Bluetooth and x64 recognizes
it and installs it. I can get my Jabra BT headset to be recognized and is now
in my bluetooth folder. But that's it, I can use it. I tried Yahoo Messenger
w/ voice and Skype but the is not Bluetooth option like it its in the 32bit
XP (dual boot).

Any ideas?
