the CCIE is more valued in the industry. also, much MUCH harder to get. go
to:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/learning/index.html

to read more about it.

these are remarkably different certifications and kind of like saying
"should I be a GP or a Surgeon?" becuase both are doctors. If you can
afford the huge sums of money to become a CCIE (surgeon) your skills will
be more in demand. MCSE is more affordable to attain, and every has
noticed this

mcse is easier (and cheaper probably) if you have no experience. what do
you like more, networking (ccie), or operating systems (mcse)?
get both. or start with ccna-->ccnp (and/or ccda-->ccdp).

yes, "Good" Paul, IMHO the CCIE is a very different thing than MCSE. CCIE's
have skill set's to work on high level routing technologies. someone the
other day said it's not "rocket science", but it's still very complex stuff.

the MCSE skill set is on Microsoft Windows Server products. 2000. 2003. and a
few others. check the links.

oh, btw, CCIE's get paid more i think.

** apparently, the going rate for MCSE skiils these days (at least where I
am!!) is $10/hr CDN for advanced AD troubleshooting. MS Canada Mississauga
are hiring and that's what they willing to pay you for your grand efforts
efforts.
