Make sure you have the very latest Promise drivers -- if you're using the
same ones you used for the RCs, you may well have problems. Something shifted
in there, and I've seen quite a few issues, including on my own system. Using
the more current driver, however, resolved the problem.

Hi Charlie,

I believe I have the latest driver, although it is a few months old. It
is a driver I found during the Beta, so there may well be a never version.

Do you happen to have any links for these downloads?

Thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon,

Have a look here: http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?act=downloads
You have to register to access the download part of the site, registration
is free anyway

That's the problem -- those that are a few months old are blowing up now.
BTDTGT.

www.planetamd64.com -- registration required for downloads, but they do not
check your email address.

Christian,

Thanks for that... I donwloaded the *decorated* driver from May, 9 by
64bitstuff and that seems to have solved the problem. I updated the
floppy I had from installing and re-ran setup and Repaired the existing
install.

As far as I can tell -- not checked v. closely -- the *decorated* set
actually contains the same drivers (1.0.39?) from before, and the only
difference seemed to be with the .INF file. I guess I need to go read
up about what decorating is and what it achieves... sure someone linked
to a MSKB article on the subject the other day.

Cheers,
Jon
