I'm just saying it would be a different story if it was US Marines. Of
course, they would have never been captured. The headline would have read
"Iranian boat blown up by mysterious and frightening fire power."

I keep hearing that, too. It's because we are no longer allowed to be
egotistical, arrogant or xenophobic.

Unless, of course, you can define yourself as an oppressed minority, in
which case you may be any, or all of the above, with impunity.

But then I'm a practicing cynic, so I don't need any help.

ok, lol, but...I assure you that if you or I were in that same situation
(and I speak as a former Marine) we would do the same thing.

I blanme CNN (and FOX too) for airing it. I guess that's an old
fashioned attitude these days - too much to ask for.

But resitance can mounted in other ways and I'm sure their doing what
they can.

<possible urban legend>

Remember the vietnam POWs that told their captures that the flying
finger was a gesture of friendship?

</possible urban legend>

....or the eye blinking morse code spelling out "TOTURE"

We all know those Marines are being coherserd - way take a brutal
beating when your going to make the video one way or the other?

What I want to know is why the guys were in their little boat
in hostile waters such that they could be approached by the Irainans...

What's wrong with having an attact chopper providing some air cover?

Anyting gets close to them making their rounds and it gets challenged/
blown out of the water?

Would it be okay to use improper English if we were to instead choose to
make fun of the French?

Right.

As if anyone can understand the illiterate cacophony that that spews from
the mouths of most Brits.

Gimme a break.
