It is a Computer in a Computer, your laptop or Desktop is considered the
host machine and the Virtual PC is the guest machine. You install the
VirtualPC software on your host machine (there are minimum hardware
requirements) and can be configured with one of several OS's (95 -through-
2003). Here are some of the reason that you may choose to install a Virtual
PC

Great for building a testing environment, once done can easily be undone
Great for learning new application or tools (beta) especially when you don't
know the impact it will have on the host machine other software
Some of the more advanced features are that it can run multiple machine and
they can communicates as it would in a regular network
