A very weird problem

I am using a Toshiba laptop with a Dell Wireless mouse instead of
using the touch pad.

Over the last couple days I have experienced long stretches when
clicking on the left button of the mouse results in my hearing a
beeping noise on the computer that I will hear even when turning the
volume off. I also feel a slight vibration when it beeps.

When I click the left button on the touch pad I don't get the beeping
sound.

After a while the beeping sound goes away and the mouse functions
perfectly normal.

Any ideas?

Thanx

Does sound weird, but I wouldn't worry about it.

You obviously have spent much too long a time withthat computer, and your
eyes are weary, actually you may already be half blind. Using the
force-feedback joystick as a mouse will do no good for your productivity,
either. It may as well be a combination of RSI and tinnitus, so see a
doctor ASAP.

But the vibrations are still there?

Vacation, away from any computer. At least 3 weeks.

Actually I figured out what was going on. The beeping was not coming
from the laptop. It was coming from my desktop that is on the floor
below. The volume of the desktop was turned way up causing the
vibration I felt.

Now I would like to know why clicking on my laptop causes the desktop
to respond. I do have a router. Any ideas?

Hmmm. Do you have a 2nd wireless mouse on the desktop as well?

Wireless laptop mouse - apparently being received by the desktop
somehow. Look at desktop USB ports/devices.

I have a new Logitech V200 2.4 GHz wireless mouse. Supposed to be free
of interference probs. Great range - probably something like 10 metres
or more. Sees right through a PC tower - is plugged into a USB port on
back. Up to 1 year battery life with lo battery light. Very impressed.

I think you are probably right. I was wondering why, when I went to
the desktop that all these programs were opened on the screen. I
thought maybe someone was hacking into my computer.

I did not realize that these wireless devices had such a long range.
But come to think of it, the laptop was directly over the floor with
the desktop so it was probably about ten feet distance.

OK.

Thanx

You never know when you'll need to operate your mouse from 30 feet away.
