The spam filtering at Gmail is pretty much the best that I have seen
anywhere.
I have been using a Gmail address on my public newsgroup postings for
over two years now, so it does attract a fair amount of spam.
In the past 2 days the Gmail automatic filters have put about 100
messages directly into the spam folder, and none of these was a legit
email. In that same period there were 9 message into my inbox, 4 of
them legitimate messages that I wanted to see and 5 spams.
I consider that to be a pretty high quality performance. I used the
Gmail "report spam" function to add the 5 spams to their filters.
