Error !INTEL(R) 8256v 10/1000 Platform LAN connect...

The above message appears (and continues ..is experiencing driver or hardware
related issues) when I attempt to use wirelss adaptor (Netgear WG111v2) to
cinnect to the web.

Checking the devices (both the INTEL and Netgear adaptor) gives the result
"Device working normally".

Wireless adaptor worked for a couple of weeks (after downloading and using
Vista comapable driver from Netgear) - then up comes the above message.

Can anybody suggest a) the cause and b) the solution?
