Hello,

I am totaly new to the MCSE. I want to become Windows
2003 Server certified. I looked up what I needed to
become certified and I know that I cant do the two
required upgrade exams. I have already bought the MCSE
Self-Paced Training Kit (Exams 70-290, 70-291, 70-293, 70-
294): Microsoft® Windows ServerT 2003 Core Requirements
book set and have an eye on the MCSE Self-Paced Training
Kit (Exam 70-29: Designing Security for a Microsoft
Windows Server 2003 Network book. Am I just wasting my
time and money on these books? Do I need to become MCSE
certified in another server first? If anyone has the
answers please email me. Thanks.

Alex

I don't know about the books you mention, but if you're
just starting out with no previous certs, then 2003 is as
good as any; much like when I started with NT4. It was
the current OS. since then, recert on 2000; I'm
reserving 2K3 for when I need it.
