Hi,
I'm having trouble getting the Backup Operators group in my AD working how I think it should. I found the following within the Microsoft website regarding this: "If you are an administrator or a backup operator in a local group, you can back up any file and folder on the local computer to which the local group applies. Likewise, if you are an administrator or backup operator on a domain controller you can back up any file and folder on any computer in the domain or any computer on a domain with which you have a two-way trust relationship." Basically my problem is that, yes, I can backup a local machine if the user account is added to the local Backup operators group. However, if I add the user to the Backup Operator's group within Active Directory Users and Computers it won't allow that account to backup the files. Surely this should work? I would of thought that as the text says, a member of the Domain BO group should have backup privelages on all member server. Am I doing it wrong or has anyone else had/manged to rectify this problem? Cheers, Mike =?Utf-8?B?TWlrZQ==?= |
