typing location changes when I am typing.

Hi, I have a Dell Inspriron 1100, 512 meg of ram Win XP Prof.
When I am typing in any program. the location will change and Ill start
typing over something I already typed.
Has anyone ever seen this ?
Any idea of the cause ?

Are you inadvertently touching the mouse pad on your notebook as you
type?

Laptop? Sounds like you're hitting the touchpad while you type.

funnily enough my desktop does the same. I'll be typing an email or
letter and for no reason it'll jump to the line above.

I'll be interested to hear any reasons and what TF I can do to stop it
as it bugs the bejesus out of me

Maybe you've got a buggy mouse, cordless mouse getting interference?

Wireless network (your computer or in close proximity)?
Touchpad or wireless mouse?


With the combination above I sometimes observe very erratic mouse
pointer behaviour (moving and "clicking"). The common solution is to
restart the computer. Sometimes it helps to disable mouse or network,
but it's not foolproof, besides, that's not always an option.
