A couple of months ago, I was suddenly able to connect to the English
language version of Wikipedia. I have shut down both my firewall and
my anti-virus but it doesn't make a difference. Does anyone else have

So, you're able to connect to the English language version of Wikipedia,
but you don't want to be able to. You tried to set your firewall and
antivirus programs to block that site, but they still allow you to see
it.

Can't you just stay away from it? Are you automatically redirected to
that site somehow?

<TIC> Most people have a "problem" with *not* being able to connect to a
site. Please explain what the "problem" is with being *able* to connect. Is
it that you have something against the English version of Wikipedia? </TIC>

Seriously, I presume you mean that you are *unable* to connect. More info
please. What browser? Do you get any error messages? Have you blocked the
site inadvertently somehow? A little more detail might be helpful in solving
your problem.

I assume you mean *not* being able to connect

did you recently raise your browser security level perhaps?

check you settings to see if it ended up as a blocked site...

or else add it to your trusted zone

Oh, that problem! I remember I had it too, a few years ago. Here's how I
solved it: I asked my wife to keep an eye on me while I was surfing the net.
Everytime the Wikipedia page popped on my screen she rushed to the breaker
and turned off the power to the whole house. It took a few months of
treatment, but I'm cured now.
