Gmail Account Hijacked

I have just emptied my Spam folder.
I found a Spam email (trying to sell Ephedra) in there, apparently sent
from my Gmail address.
How can someone else use my account to spam people?
Could it be used to send viruses and malware to people in my address
book?
What can I do about it?

Don't worry about it. It's nothing to do with your mail account, just
a name hijack.
