Your ISP may have some spam filters in place but they will want you to
set up some criteria as you know your needs. If you have webmail access
then it takes some time but that's not a bad way to set the filter
criteria. Initially, you want to have your email reader set to leave
email on the server until things are set up and configure via webmail.
You really should consider using Thunderbird as a mail reader:
http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/
It is an excellent program. It's free. It will allow you to download
headers only and filter on those. It has an adaptive filter that allows
you to train it to recognize your spam. It, it, it, it's great!
