I'm looking for a utility to read minidump files BUT NOT the one you can get
from Microsoft. I used to have a little utility that opened a DOS box and
quickly went thru the dump file and saved the output as a text file for you
to read but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. Anyone
offer any assistance?

You mean none of the MS tools - KD, WinDBG(cmd line ver CDB) or just MS
DumpChk?
