Interesting thing about these external hard drive enclosures
is that they use electronics to identify and control the hard
drive that is enclosed. And their power supply requirements do
not necessarily follow any standard. It is quite possible that
the replacement power supply is not the proper one for this
drive or it has already damaged it. The hard drive might still
be OK but not its enclosure. Have it checked or serviced by a
tech.

And what is Drive G? iTunes and Yahoo could be looking for a
qualifying or registering file that can only be on a fixed
hard drive in the computer or laptop.
