WOW! Thanx y'all! I see that I was being an enabler. I drove him down (from Knoxville, TN) to his brother's house (que the Deliverance music) in North Carolina yesterday & have washed my hands of him. (I'll still correspond via email tho....just no money!) Thanx again Doc -- Real debates, no bullshit. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Hale_Bobb/ See also http://www.halebobb.com Dr. Memory |

(I'll still correspond via email tho....just no money!) There's nothing wrong with helping somebody out...It's just a question of whether you are helping or just enabling (which is not helping, in any way, shape, or form). The correspondance by email sounds fine and there may come a day when you can help in good conscience...You will know when-- he won't ask for help, he'll have changed and be trying to make it on his own. > > Thanx again > > Doc -- Unfortunately, they usually don't change and you don't want to be the one waiting for it to happen.
