hi there
had a problem like yours, linksys WAP and dell latitude running XP SP2
i would like to add a small thing. the most probable reason you are not able
to connect to the network using the WAP when SSID is hidden is that you
Wireless NIC is set to obtain IP address from a DHCP server.
if you give it a static IP from the range it should work fine.
at least it works with me.
