I'm not so sure this is about being PC as it is about Gray
Davis trying to stay in office. He has vetoed similar
bills in the past, but now he needs the votes to keep from
being recalled. In California you can use the same form
to apply for a drivers license and to register to vote at
the same time. Even though the applicant certifies that
they are a legal resident's of the state, all the agencies
involved have stated in the media that they don't verify
residency status. Guess which party illegal immigrants
are most likely to vote for.
