graphics card problem

i have an nvidia geforce fx 5600 graphics card and ever since i
reinstalled windows i've been having trouble with the driver. i've
downloaded the driver from the website and it installs ok (apart from
saying that its not digitally signed), but whenh i reboot the pc the
driver clearly isn't working as the screen is jerky and an error
appears in device manager. any ideas what i could do?
