Using XP Pro on my Sharp laptop, I've encountered a problem booting up. The
message I'm getting on a black screen is:

''We apologise for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start
successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.''

It then gives me a list of options to start Windows - all being
unsuccessful.

How do I get the thing going? I haven't added any software or hardware prior
to this problem.

Use your XP CD to do a system repair. This will leave your programs
and data intact.
