My friend, using an iBook and an HP Deskjet 5550 says she was printing
something when she got the following message, "The printing has been
stopped and this job will be added to the queu." She doesn't know what
that means and she doesn't know what to do to solve the problem and
continue printing. She asked me, her personal computer guru. But I
don't know either.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Sounds like the response when the user does something to stop it.
She might have clicked a button to cancel (even if she didn't notice),
hit the command-period buttons, or selected the wrong menu item while
the print monitor was in front.

In any case, it is telling you that it's ready to resume or reprint the
document right from the print monitor.
Look for that application in the Dock (probably at far right).
Click on that to bring it front.
You should see a dialog with the document listed and a couple control
buttons; select it and choose to either resume or repeat the print.

I can't describe it or the menu options exactly because I'm not using
an HP model.

Thanks for the suggestion, but does not your suggestion (Start\Help
type in print queue) relate to Windows? My friend is using an iBook.

Were you not able to check the Print Monitor function and see the
document ready to go?
It concerns me that you are replying as though the problem still exists.
