Still, MVPs and MCPs (in broad sense) are almost unrelated. MVPs can get
benefits related to MCSD exams such as exam discounts, but these titles are very different beasts. -- Dmitriy Lapshin [C# / .NET MVP] X-Unity Test Studio http://x-unity.miik.com.ua/teststudio.aspx Bring the power of unit testing to VS .NET IDE "Hermit Dave" <> wrote in message news:... > oh well i wouldnt mind becoming one... though i have been sarcastic at times > and to an extent even made fun of others... > so chances are... very less... but yeah i wouldnt mind becoming one > > -- > > Regards, > > HD > "neo" <> wrote in message > news:... > > hi , > > > > how many of you also trying for MVP . ? what do you think about being an > > MVP. > > > > I think by bringing MVP , microsoft is taking a clever step in increasing > > its developer communities, atleast motivating them to interact more. i do know what MVP title means and i know its very different to MCP or MCAD/
MCSD... you can be good but that doesn't mean you will be offered MVP title. (by invitation only and selected by current MVPs) it does involve good control over language (as one of the pre requisites) -- Regards, HD "Dmitriy Lapshin [C# / .NET MVP]" <x-> wrote in message news:%23Wkrl%... > Still, MVPs and MCPs (in broad sense) are almost unrelated. Hi Pravin, I can't speak for Dmitriy, but I started reading newsgroups when I changed jobs a few years back and went from a large programming shop where there were plenty of people to help me, to being a one-person shop where I was working with a newer version of Visual FoxPro that was new to me. For a while I read every question and answer and picked up a whole lot of good information. After a while I saw a few questions that I was able to answer, either something I knew already, something I was able to find via Google, or something I figured out by trying things myself. The end result was that I was able to help a lot of people, and after a while I was "noticed" by the VFP MVPs and the Visual FoxPro team at Microsoft. Somebody must have nominated me, and I was first awarded in October, 2000. Since I'm still busy helping people online and in other ways, I've continued to be awarded every year since then. Being an MVP has been a unique and wonderful experience. I especially like meeting other MVPs (in my own and other product areas), since what we all have in common is that we like helping people learn new technology and helping them solve their problems. -- Cindy Winegarden MCSD, Microsoft Visual FoxPro MVP www.cindywinegarden.com Cindy Winegarden |

Hi Cindy,
Its nice to know about your side of story. But i have a question.. How can they be sure that its the same person who is answering or doing all the good work.. Here on Microsoft news groups..,there is no proper way of identifying who actually post's.. I can just type your name, and post whtever I want.. So how could they identify that its you actually posting... >-----Original Message----- >In news: , >pravin <> wrote: >> You are C# MVP. how long have you been working with C# ? >> >> do you feel satisfied after becoming MVP. ? i mean have you been >> interacting on newsgroups before MVP came out or started it as to get >> MVP ? > >Hi Pravin, > >I can't speak for Dmitriy, but I started reading newsgroups when I changed >jobs a few years back and went from a large programming shop where there >were plenty of people to help me, to being a one-person shop where I was >working with a newer version of Visual FoxPro that was new to me. > >For a while I read every question and answer and picked up a whole lot of >good information. well most people dont change their alias... unless you really said something
which caused a mass attack on you plus you always have message logs etc... (i have seen instances where someone said something and then changed their alias and wrote something totally different... someone actually pointed out that the messages where coming from same source... (out look has message source) ) if you just want to be sure... trust me dont think there's no other Hermit Dave here... and yes when i started i told myself ... i will learn and help others try and help but sometimes just cant help it -- Regards, HD Once a Geek.... Hi Dmitriy,
You are C# MVP. how long have you been working with C# ? do you feel satisfied after becoming MVP. ? i mean have you been interacting on newsgroups before MVP came out or started it as to get MVP ? just curious. Hi Pravin,
I've been working with C# for about 1.5 years and I really feel myself satisfied being awarded the MVP status. Yes, I had been interacting on the newsgroups before I was awarded, and it was just because I liked to exchange knowledge and ideas, as well as to communicate with C# developers all around the world. It was quite a surprise when I received the MVP invitation! -- Dmitriy Lapshin [C# / .NET MVP] X-Unity Test Studio http://x-unity.miik.com.ua/teststudio.aspx Bring the power of unit testing to VS .NET IDE "pravin" <> wrote in message news:... > Hi Dmitriy, > > You are C# MVP. how long have you been working with C# ? > > do you feel satisfied after becoming MVP. ? i mean have you been interacting > on newsgroups before MVP came out or started it as to get MVP ? > > just curious. > Pravin. > > "Dmitriy Lapshin [C# / .NET MVP]" <x-> wrote > in message news:#Wkrl#... > > Still, MVPs and MCPs (in broad sense) are almost unrelated.
