I also heard the C# and a part of .NET platform is an ECMA standard. Any
company can grab the specification and create their own tools, compilers, translators, etc. BTW: ECMA refused to standarized Java a few years ago, so go for .NET and C#! Anyway I passed MSDN exams for VC++ last year and I am happy with it. There are plenty of so called legacy code (eg. COM components) that I have to deal with. If I did not have any knowledge about this stuff I would have really hard time even though I am developing for .NET right now. If too many changes are recommenced which ms do not agree to, then yes the same will happen; they will take their new toy away so no one else can play with it. Kline Sphere |
