In September Sigma announced an image stabilized version of their 18-200
zoom.
Any real news about release dates? Price?

Crap from Canon is the exception
Sigma, to it's credit, has a few "exceptional" lenses.

IMO, 11x zoom lenses are bound to involve too many compromises.
