Canon Powershot a40 CF card problem?

Hi all,
'
I have a powershot a40 and I bought a 512 mb kingston card for it.
After filling up about halfway the pictures started corrupting, does
the Canon Powershot a40 have a limit to the capacity of the flash
card?
