It was a pleasure looking at those pix.

How long a lens does one need to get that close? Image stabilization?

Great pix Ed. Those humming birds are tough to get -- they only
have two speeds; hover and gone !!

Why does the bird in #4 have his middle toe lifted up while he
is looking at you ????

I walked up quite close to this guy on a pile just of the beach. This is
the full frame, no cropping.Taken at 400mm with the 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF
AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor on a D200, f/5.6 1/350 sec. Yes, VR was enabled.

Great shots. Your other gallerys are exellent also. I spent 2 years
stationed at NAS Norfolk in the 80's and married my first wife in Ocean
City, MD.
