Default Prep for Exam 70-306

Hi all,

I am planning to take exam 70-306 (Developing windows
application with VB.NET) in about 2 months time. I am
starting from scratch and have no prior experience with
programming in the Visual Studio environment and with
databases.(probably a good thing!)

Could you please suggest which books I should read to pass
the exam? The only reference I have right now is the
Microsoft press self paced training kit book - "Developing
Windows applications with MS VB.NET and C#.NET". I really
doubt if this will prepare me well enough to pass the test.

Thanks,
Venkat

I used the book shown on this bookpools web site. I found
it to be comprehensive, covering most of everything that
is asked in the exam. It does not cover "Security in
the .NET framework", which you can refer using MSDN or
www.codeclinic.com.

Does anyone else think Programming Microsoft Visual
Basic .NET (Core Reference) is worth the money?

Given that everything can be found in the msdn, then no.

The Exam Cram 2 books are pretty good. They give good
breadth and usually have a couple hard copy sample tests
and a CD based randomized sample test.
