hi all...
i just wanted to ask about the exams and how to pass them... can any one help me plz... i gave exam 70-306 but i failed because of around 10-15 questions that are from subject which does not exist in the requiered books (ms2559,ms2565,ms2389)...the total questions was 57...so i think i gave the wrong answers for all of these 10-15 questions... i learnt the books by heart... right now i thought to buy some practice exams...do u think that it will help me??... also do u know any other way to get pass the exams... or just tell me how u passed the exams...i will do the same to get passed... ____________ if u think i am not able to pass the exam then read this...else dont read it coz these few lines are about my self and how i am in the class... in the class...i am the youngest one...all the others are above 22yrs old...i am 18yrs old...one of them have ten years experience...and he is 32 years old...two others were sent by stock market... all of them already work in a company and have experience...all of them asked me at least once for a solution for their problem which they face in their job...and i gave them...and they said it works... i also upgraded an MS Access application for a company to vb.net standalone application...they liked it... but i still failed in the exams...i dont know why...i never felt that i am answering wrong...except the ones which were about Windows Event Logging and COM+ Components...CLR Debugger...and some othere which does not exist in the requiered books/courses... i program more than 14 hourse per day...actually i do nothing except programming and modelling in softimage|xsi...but i still failed... ___________ so now can u plz tell me how did u pass the exams?...u got a miracle...studied...or tell me anything that helps me to pass the exams... thanx in advance... PS:that nick name is my candidate id...it is in my beatifull examination result... PS:i never failed in any exam before this...this one made me feel bad... SR1353159 |

Don't worry if you failed - just chalk it up to experience
and try again; you'll be in good company! I too failed my first exam before I got the hang of it. Also, don't compare yourself with more experienced programmers (and don't believe all the tall tales they like to tell either ;o) Now that you have seen a real exam you know better what to expect next time. Try all the free demo's you can find on the net and (if you can afford it) get the transcender practice exam. In addition to the actual exam knowledge you need to be aware of good exam technique for this kind of exams. Even if you don't know all the answers you can maximise your chance of getting it right anyway. It may help if you invest in a book that specifically prepares you for 70- 306, for example MCAD/MCSD Training Guide (70-306): Developing and Implementing Windows-Based Applications with Visual Basic.NET and Visual Studio.NET by Mike Gunderloy Do read the advice in the book on exam technique and don't give up. Best of luck next time! >-----Original Message----- >hi all... > >i just wanted to ask about the exams and how to pass >them... > >can any one help me plz... > >i gave exam 70-306 but i failed because of around 10-15 >questions that are from subject which does not exist in >the requiered books (ms2559,ms2565,ms2389)...the total >questions was 57...so i think i gave the wrong answers >for all of these 10-15 questions... > >i learnt the books by heart... > >right now i thought to buy some practice exams...do u >think that it will help me??... > >also do u know any other way to get pass the exams... > >or just tell me how u passed the exams...i will do the >same to get passed... > >____________ > >if u think i am not able to pass the exam then read >this...else dont read it coz these few lines are about my >self and how i am in the class... > >in the class...i am the youngest one...all the others are >above 22yrs old...i am 18yrs old...one of them have ten >years experience...and he is 32 years old...two others >were sent by stock market... > >all of them already work in a company and have >experience...all of them asked me at least once for a >solution for their problem which they face in their >job...and i gave them...and they said it works... > >i also upgraded an MS Access application for a company to >vb.net standalone application...they liked it... > >but i still failed in the exams...i dont know why...i >never felt that i am answering wrong...except the ones >which were about Windows Event Logging and COM+ >Components...CLR Debugger...and some othere which does >not exist in the requiered books/courses... > >i program more than 14 hourse per day...actually i do >nothing except programming and modelling in >softimage|xsi...but i still failed... > >___________ > >so now can u plz tell me how did u pass the exams?...u >got a miracle...studied...or tell me anything that helps >me to pass the exams... > >thanx in advance... > >PS:that nick name is my candidate id...it is in my >beatifull examination result... > >PS:i never failed in any exam before this...this one made >me feel bad... >. > Maria |

There is a good book that I referred to while preparing
for the exam. The book is "Programming in Microsoft VisualBasic.NET by Francesco Balena", it is fairly exhaustive and covers almost all topics except Security, which you have to do from MSDN. MSDN is a rich and powerful resource and is full of examples. Also refer to codeclinic.com for further help on topics. Transcender practise exams will give you a good idea of what type of questions are typically asked. Exam preparation is different ball game. Exams typically stress on some topics and some topics are completely ommitted. Exam preparation should be focussed on topics which are stressed in the exam, not how much knowledge you can cram in your head......BTW failing an exam does not mean much, and so does passing, it's not like if you pass an exam all of a sudden you become a guru... > >PS:i never failed in any exam before this...this one made >me feel bad... >.
