Default Book on VHDL basics and HDL based design

I once learned the basics of Verilog and HDL design in a undergraduate
course, but now need a solid understanding of HDL based design (specifically
VHDL based design). Any recommendations for excellent books on VHDL basics
and perhaps another focusing on more advanced topics.

Best,
Brendan

I think this is one of the best novice to intermediate books out
there...

HDL Chip Design by Douglas C. Smith (Doone Publications) teaches both Verilog and VHDL.
