Photographing a parade; alt.photography

I am fairly new to phototgraphy. I have will be using a KM 5d to photograph
(attempt to at least) a parade. Any pointers or suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.

Sounds like a chance to get some nice stitching software ready for some
interesting pans.
Just a Wild idea.

Don't think about "photographing a parade." Think about photographing
people and think what to you want the image you see to say to others.

people photos as opposed to parade photos.
