Canon Power Shot and Lithium Cells

My A40 specifically warns not to use lithium AA's. Just ordered a A95 and
downloaded the .pdf manual. I see no such warning for the A95. Does this
mean they have dropped this restriction? Not sure I would go that route, but
might be a good way to carry an emergency spare.
