Hi,

I recently was given an old 2501 router. I hooked up a console cable and
powered it up, and it seemed to go through it's sequence, indicating memory,
IOS version etc, showed a couple of error messages (e.g. CDP not enabled,
etc.) and then the "hit return to continue". However, at this point it's
simply frozen. I tried repowering several times and basically got the same
result. Also tried sending a cntl-break during power up, and it did dump me
into a ">" prompt, but then freezes.

Is this one simply destined for the scrap heap, or is there something else I
can try?

thanks,
john
