If you have a 30 gigabyte hard drive and windows only recognize 2.6 gigs,
what does this mean? How can I fix this?

Sounds like you do not have it set as an NTFS partition.
If you have one of the older Win OSes, then all you can do is make
the balance an extended partition and chop hat into 2Gbyte virtual drives.
*NEVER* use the stupid (and dangerous) compressed drive options that
WinDoz has.
