Is it possible to incorporate a sound, that automatically plays when you
open an OE email? If so, how would you do it?

While in the mail mode, the edit mod that it is in, must be set up for the
full HTML mode. Select Format, Insert, Background, and then Sound. Follow
the prompts for the sound file selection, and how it is to be set up.

Below is an extraction from the Help file system for OE. It is not too
clear, but it may also help to give you an idea.
To include a sound in a message

1.. Click anywhere in the message window.
2.. On the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Sound.
3.. Enter the name of the file you want to include and the number of times
you want the file to play.
