help with web page displays

Hi
What is the cause of a failure to display full web page content. On my own
web page I have a counter that now shows a red cross. The problem occurs
not only on my own web site. When visiting other web sites the same fault
appears. The Northern Rock home page for example does not show their logo.
What could be causing this? I know this is a problem on my machine since
when I visit the sites from another machine the content of the web page is
OK.
