I asked this a few months back but got called off to another site. So
here is some more information. The unit always goes into rommon mode
when it is powered down and back up. Here is what is going on.

That is not for the same card as what I have installed. Though it could
be the same issue a bad crystal. I just want to rule out everything
else.

We had seen this a couple of times. I assume you're using native, not
hybrid. Once the thing is booted, do:

sho ver to see the RP config register.

remote command switch sho ver to see the SP config register.

If they don't match, set them so they do match and reboot
(at least, that is the problem that we had, the cfg regs
were not synced).

Pls post the show version...
The default config-register value should be 0x2102... If iti s anything
else. then this may be the reason.. or else...ur NVRAM might be
corrupted for which u may have to contact cisco TAC......

Have you set the configuration register to the normal value of 0x2102?
This would normally regain the correct boot sequence.

As you are using hybrid, there are two config-registers, one on the SUP and
one on the MSFC. Both should be 0x2102. The one on the MSFC you see easily
with "sh ver", the other on the SUP you can see with "remote command switch
show version"
