Default Network Access problem with WindowsXP home

I have a wireless router and a pcmcia radio from netgear in my laptop.
I can access the laptop from my desktop, but I am unable to access the
desktop from my PC. Now, I do not really think it is the wireless setup
as I this same problem with a wired ethernet switch. I am wondering
though if it might be my windows XP home edition and whether I need to
upgrade my laptop to Windows XP Pro? I can access my Windows XP Pro on
my desktop from my Windows 2000 machine with not problem, but not from
my laptop which has Windows XP home edition on it. Any help would be
appreciated.

See if this solves your problem.

See this Microsoft Knowledge Base article for the solution. Make the
