Odd border at bottom of browser window

I have a border at the bottom of my Firefox window.

It's aboit one inch high, lying horizontally across the bottom of the
Firefox window. I can't get rid of it - and it's using upvaluable screen
space. The space is empty (white space), lying below my status bar and above
my taskbar. It only appears in Firefox.

I haven't a clue what caused it and even tried re-installing Firefox - but
it's still there.

Does anyone know what this is and how I get rid of it?

It's driving me nuts!

Bobby

Thanks very much Peter.

This cured my problem.

Incidentally, it was the Skype plug-in that caused the problem. Once
disabled, the gray area disappeared.

Cheers from cold Florida!
